The institution
Overview
Large adapted warehouse near the rail freight yards; tall-athlete mechanics and controlled combinations with accessible small-athlete lanes. Experienced plain-speaking coach who dismantles heroic posturing.
History
Petra Voss would have built Summit Gate after too many tall athletes were coached as if reach alone were a plan. A group of private backers funded a long warehouse with proper clearance, and Petra retained majority voting control. The gym later added scaled lanes after a smaller visiting boxer identified how often “specialist” becomes an excuse for exclusion. That anecdote concerns an unnamed proposed visitor, not a revised membership for Leon. Five current professionals make a selective stable possible alongside public technical clinics and individually priced camps. Two current champions are inherited sporting facts; the proposal does not claim the gym produced their past titles.
Ownership
Independent Petra-majority company; minority property investors receive no control over corner decisions.
Location
Proposed adapted freight warehouse in Innsbruck, close to rail connections rather than an isolated mountain retreat.
Identity
Tall slate frames, blue floor lanes and restrained brass numbers; engineering scale without fortress or military imagery.
Reputation
A serious mechanics institute for tall fighters that also treats shorter athletes as complete athletes.
Philosophy
Physical gifts create choices, not obligations to stay in bad exchanges.
Training specialities
Long-range jab control, double-jab pressure, tall guard alignment and balanced combination exits.
Training approach
Use height and reach accurately while preserving each fighter’s existing style; shorter members develop their own lanes, never imitation giant mechanics.
Daily routine
- Movement check and one honest limitation named before warm-up.
- Jab spacing, tall guard mechanics or scaled short-range equivalents.
- Separate matched-size contact groups; cross-size learning is non-contact observation and footwork demonstration only.
- Review the choice to leave an exchange and book individual recovery.
Atmosphere
Unromantic, spacious and sharply funny; nobody is congratulated simply for being large or brave.
Facilities
Large footprint and high equipment quality, paid for by selective professional places, technical clinics and camp rentals; no invented champion revenue deal.
Equipment
High and low adjustable targets, clearance-safe bag gantries, double-jab gates, mobile mirrors and body-position cameras with simple playback.
Communal spaces
Private changing cubicles, a common meal bench, a quiet office and a mezzanine analysis room reached by lift.
Travel and camps
Innsbruck is an accessible primary camp base with rail-linked residential apartments; international travel is planned in blocks. Separate staff and rooms protect confidentiality for same-division rivals.

Across the gyms
Championship prestige and control
Ferroluce and Summit Gate both accommodate important champions, but Marta Bellandi regards composure as a craft while Petra Voss distrusts anything that looks like ceremonial authority. Dante's meticulous control and Friedrich's generous showmanship make that argument personal.
Proposed narrative
In preparation for the already listed Dante–Friedrich appearance, the coaches must approve a joint behind-the-scenes feature. Marta wants the feature to reveal the work beneath Dante's image. Petra insists Friedrich be shown doing the ordinary corrections he would rather turn into a polished performance. Both men face the discomfort of being excellent without directing every viewer's reaction.
Prestige without pretending to be invulnerable
Summit Gate has selective resources and Granite Yard has selective trust. Petra and Nodar dislike heroic posturing for different reasons: she has seen it distort mechanics, while he has seen it prevent a fighter from admitting what he does not understand.
Proposed narrative
A proposed coaching roundtable about same-gym title contests becomes unexpectedly personal. Petra must explain a fair process for Kerem and Koda. Nodar is asked whether a secretive gym can credibly promise transparent boundaries. Tashi's playful technical question cuts through the solemn language and forces both coaches to give a practical answer.
