The institution
Overview
Small selective railway electrical depot; guarded traps, balanced counters and trust earned in measurable stages. Gruff collector of broken clocks who can be playful without surrendering standards.
History
Nodar Kapanadze would have rented one repair room after years coaching other people’s evening sessions. Former electrical colleagues helped secure the yard lease, but the gym is now independently owned by Nodar and his long-serving assistant, with a written succession agreement. Broken clocks on a wall mark the distinction between waiting and refusing to act, not lost championship moments. The proposed club grew slowly because Nodar dislikes making promises before he can resource them. Its two current champions remain inherited roster facts; their existing careers are not retroactively credited to the depot. A small public beginners’ programme prevents the professionals from confusing privacy with exemption from ordinary manners.
Ownership
Independent coach-and-assistant partnership on a long commercial lease; no railway or WCBC ownership implied.
Location
Proposed former railway electrical depot in Tbilisi, arranged around a sheltered stone service yard.
Identity
Granite walls, charcoal ring posts and orange task markers; repaired objects appear intentionally maintained rather than abandoned.
Reputation
Disciplined traps and earned trust; intimidating at first glance, surprisingly playful once a task is understood.
Philosophy
Trust advances through clear small commitments; suspicion must not become a permanent veto on learning.
Training specialities
Guarded traps, delayed straight counters, compact hook releases and balanced pressure.
Training approach
Offer a believable target, retain position and commit only when the information justifies it.
Daily routine
- State the task, the boundary and what would justify changing either.
- Guarded trap and delayed-counter drills with visible success cues.
- Matched-size rounds in separate task groups, with controlled pauses for observation.
- Review one kept promise and one question still open; recover without extra proving rounds.
Atmosphere
Gruff humour, exact commitments and a growing ability to admit that trust does not require certainty.
Facilities
Reliable mid-range professional kit, private changing cubicles, clean showers, laundry and a small booked consultation room.
Equipment
Counter pads, delayed visual cues, stance-specific bags and soft gate frames; a wall of immobilised clocks is decorative and secured.
Communal spaces
Tea bench beside the yard, a clock-repair cabinet and a plain office with an open chair for private disagreement.
Travel and camps
Tbilisi hosts proposed primary camps with vetted nearby apartments. Overseas members agree remote preparation blocks; separate private plans protect current same-division rivalries.

Across the gyms
Guarded respect between creative counter schools
Zion and Bence are already an unfought rivalry in the opening references. Their proposed gyms let that tension extend beyond promotional lines. Sunroom protects creative expression through boundaries; Granite Yard builds trust through small commitments that can actually be kept.
Proposed narrative
A proposed public technique feature asks both camps to explain a harmless footwork exercise. Zion wants to share enough to encourage newcomers; Bence worries that any explanation gives away control. Inês and Nodar negotiate what can be shown without forcing either fighter to perform trust for a camera. Zion also has to admit he cannot personally supervise every young fan's ambitions.
Prestige without pretending to be invulnerable
Summit Gate has selective resources and Granite Yard has selective trust. Petra and Nodar dislike heroic posturing for different reasons: she has seen it distort mechanics, while he has seen it prevent a fighter from admitting what he does not understand.
Proposed narrative
A proposed coaching roundtable about same-gym title contests becomes unexpectedly personal. Petra must explain a fair process for Kerem and Koda. Nodar is asked whether a secretive gym can credibly promise transparent boundaries. Tashi's playful technical question cuts through the solemn language and forces both coaches to give a practical answer.
